2017 Polaris switchback pro s le
Hi guys. I have a 2017 Switchback Pro S 800. The heated grips seem to not work very well. Not much heat almost seems as though the heat comes and goes. They don't start to get warm until sixteen or seventeen miles into the trip. The grips used to get so long. I could never run them on high, now and I setting this very little heat. Has anyone ran into this issue before?
Thanks

I would find out the resistance from a good set from a friend or a donor sled and check it. Most likely the element is breaking up under the grips.

Start by changing all the cheap junk chinese relays in the sled, if the load shed relay is going bad its possible theres weak current going to the warmers. They are a very well known failure point, so best to start there.
Theres older threads here with links to the Panasonic replacements at Digi key & elsewhere.

Is the load shed relay in the 5 pin black rectangular relay in the velcro bag near the clutch cover? Similar to the 2 relays on the front cross member?

They used the same relay everywhere in the sled, there should be 5 total if it has e-start.

I remember in the past pulling all the relays and putting die electric grease on all of them... I will check them out. Thanks for all the responses

The problem is the relays themselves are not sealed, chinese junk.
Heres an older thread with links to a thread with the digi key parts

May as well replace all 5 at this point. Thanks again
