- 2012 Polaris switchback 800 (currently blown up) about to become a 600 lol
Hello, I recently got a sweet introduction into wrenching on these EFI sleds.
Long story short, while trying to troubleshoot my rich running 800 switchback I thoroughly blew the engine (looks like a bad fuel pump, low fuel pressure)
I got a good deal on a in 2013 RMK 600 so I’m in the process of swapping the engine into my switchback.
Naturally, I realized they updated the wiring in 2013 and the RMKs have different switches and handle bars.
Being I want to keep the switchback handle bar switches and the reverse button I’d like to use the 2012 wiring harness to do this I’ll have to swap the 2012 800 stator into the 2013 600 so the connector works with the harness
My big questions are:
1. Will the 2013 RMK 600 ECU work with the 2012 800 switchback wiring harness?
2. If so, will it have the switches and reverse button work (I doubt it)
3. What does reflashing ECUs look like? Can anyone in central MN flash one of the ECUs to work?
I was going to use the 2013 600 fuel pump and match the injectors with their corresponding ECU
Please jump in and tell me if I’m being stupid about anything or if you got any advice, as you can tell I have already made some sled mistakes to get to this point
