    04 Freedom Touring electrical fail

That is a good start, a fully charged battery is 12.7 volts so anything above that means the system is charging. Don't be surprised if it cuts out charging at low idle when you meter it. They usually cut off charging & non-essential loads until the stator gets more RPM. Be interesting to see...

02 Edge 600 gas gauge and fuel pickup

In tank mechanical gauge or electric on the dash? The fuel line has a weighted pickup at the end and enough length to reach the tank bottom.

02 Edge 600 Carb tuning advice

Hmm, usually if the reeds are going it'll soak the airbox pretty good, so hard to condemn them just yet. Plus looking back at your post last year, they didn't look half bad. You spoke of top end issues with the sled in posts last year, did you ever get it sorted out then? Have the clutches been...

    04 Freedom Touring electrical fail

So I don't know much about those early 4S models but I do know they had a much different electrical system than the 2-stroke sleds of that era. Hard to say for sure without an electrical diagram but I'm guessing the stator output is split into different independent circuits, one to run the sled...

Is it spitting back excessively into the airbox after its been ridden a while?

02 Edge 600 Carb tuning advice

Assuming the choke cable freeplay is correct and they aren't leaking, what are the air screws set to? I think factory is 2 turns out. Also have the reeds ever been replaced? Given their age they could be getting weak.

    First gen edge chassis

Those were a 1/2 year release to the dealers in 2001 for in-season sales, somewhat rare but not a factory unicorn by any means. Pretty typical for the factory to do that once and a while in those days to drum up some excitement when they made a change, those 700s were very popular back then. I...

RCA plug location under the hood

You have to pull the cover off the gas tank, under there by the steering post is a fabric bag that has all the connectors in it. I vaguely remember seeing the RCA plug when I hooked up my tether.

Help confirm thumb warmer wiring reality

Depends if you have electric start or not. The original and the CM1 I posted are single pole double throw, the CM1A you bought is single pole normally open which I dont think will work for the starter relay. The rest dont care since nothing is wired to that pole when unpowered.

Help confirm thumb warmer wiring reality

I'd change them just as cheap insurance and prevent a future problem. They are cheap enough. There's nothing in those warmer circuits that would be sensing temperature, just a simple resistance circuit, so unfortunately I doubt that is it. My money is on a flaky load shed relay, or possibly a...

Help confirm thumb warmer wiring reality

See below for a post I made in another thread about the relays. Load shed relay could be junk and zapping too much power. You might only have 4 depending on whether or not you have e-start. https://polarisstarpower.com/threads/polaris-axys-sks-2017.2346/post-20158

Help confirm thumb warmer wiring reality

Looks like thats a carry over from the handwarmer chart to test if you are shorted to the bars. Not relevant to this since its mounted to plastic. You should have continuity between the high/low, see the diagram from the sleds wiring diagram below. Have you replaced the crappy chinese Polaris...

    700 xc fuel lines

If you are talking about the one facing down off the bottom of the bowl, thats a connection for a water trap. Should be a 4 or 5" piece of hose with a plastic plug off each of those so any accumulated water that may settle out from the bowls can be drained.

    700 xc fuel lines

I forgot about the smaller vent lines, those just hook up to nipples that are on the airbox. I might be able to dig up a diagram for those if you need it.

    700 xc fuel lines

I've attached the diagram from the service manual below. It's a supply only system, the carbs are fed individually from the fuel pump. Keep in mind that its only a low pressure lift pump to keep the carb bowls fed. Also how are the lines themselves? If they are hardened up and not flexible...

OEM style shocks for '89 Indy 500

Dennis Kirk or Parts Unlimited are probably the best spots to look. I linked the parts unlimited catalog below. http://asset.parts-unlimited.com/static/sites/flippers/2024-Parts-Unlimited-Snow/334/

2001 Indy 340 - need carb removal process

Pull the impulse line off the fuel pump and make sure its not full of gas from a bad diaphragm. There are rebuild kits available for them, my Honda generator engine actually has a Mikuni pump and I had to get a kit from Dennis Kirk since Honda would only sell the whole pump. Also have you...

2001 Indy 340 - need carb removal process

Clean can be deceiving. Twice this year I've opened up a carb that looked perfectly clean inside that was taken off a motor running like crap. One was my neighbors lawnmower that would only run for 30 seconds before stalling, the second was a Honda generator I bought used last year and never...

    Pro rmk 800 -14 Shortie?

I haven't done one, but I've seen it done. They are also very prone to overheating after, unless you are in deep snow all day, meaning riding hardpack to get to powder could be a problem. You really need someone that knows how to TIG weld aluminum to do it since you have to cut & modify the...
