I would clean the clutches and definitely replace the springs, those 18yr old ones in there are bagged out by now and likely not giving you full backshift which could be causing excessive heat to the belt.

Yes, the accessory circuit is fused, not sure exactly where they are located on that sled. Look in the area around the service plug connections under the hood.

Just did some checking in the service manual, the ECM is locked not the display. You just have to enter your unlock code and it should be good.

Try the default 000, otherwise AFAIK it can only be reset by the dealer thru Digital Wrench. I think they even have to call Polaris to get the unlock.

Just goes to show you not all dealers are created equal, talk about a variation in knowledge. The online directions looked pretty straightforward, they just weren't updated to show the required additional part #s for a newer machine. At least you found a dealer that knew what he was talking about.
