It was rode aggressively but always warmed up 1st. Not sure what caused it. He did have some det issues with his SSI pipe mod. He's running a PC-V. I'm not sure who's durability kit he's using, I'll have to ask. What's interesting is the groove/scratches are in the same spot where the...
It is set up too stiff from the factory. I had to turn all my clickers down. Front Ski springs are set way too stiff for trail riding. I'm still tweaking. I think it will be perfect after 1000 miles. Just needs some break in.
This sled belongs to my cousin. The nickel-silicon plating looked good except for where the groove was...showed a little wear there. Honed it well and now everything looks good. These grooves/scratches were only on one side of the piston. The skirts looked fine.
These are out of a '15 800 Axys Switchback. Around 3500 Miles. Always used Polaris oil. Pulled them to do the durability kit. What's with the deep scratches?
Although I've only got 181 miles on my 17 Assault, I'm very impressed with its trail manners. I've only had two 137" skid sleds in my lifetime(I've owned over 30 sleds...most of them short tracks) with one being my 2012 GSX-SE 800 and my 2015 Renegade 800. But I find this 144" IGX equipped...
That's my brother Pete's Sidewinder....oh ya, lined them up 3 different times! 2 out of 3, I got the holeshot and he came by me at around 50-60 mph like I was standing still. The new Sidewinder is INSANELY fast. Fastest sled I've ever been on.
After riding my Assault I have no doubt that they will be faster than the Rush chassis Poo's. I had a '16 short track Axys Rush last season and it just didn't have any top end. Went great to 100 MPH but then it fell off. My new Assault just keeps on trucking right past 100 mph. Saw 107 on the...
I realize you are just pointing things out, thanks. I just wanted to make sure you knew "why" I'm over reving. Too many people on snowmobile forums don't have the experience you or I have and tend to suggest what to do when they have no business doing so. By the way, I appreciate all the R&D you...
1st ride 2 weeks ago it started at 7900, then 8000. 1st thing Sat morning I was seeing 8000, then 8100 then 8250 and by the end of the day 8350. Sunday was a cold 0 degrees and warmed up to 19 degrees by mid day. At this point it would shift right to 8350 and climb to 8400 and stay there. I...
All stock. I understand your concern. But....I've been clutching sleds for years and understand it as well as anyone on this forum. I'm going to test your clutching experience with a question....What do you read from the fact I'm over-reving a bit?
I managed in 181 miles/7.2 hours of riding in this past weekend in Pittsburg NH. You guys are going to love your new Assaults! Top speed recall says I hit 107 MPH. This was on a packed but not groomed trail and only a short straightaway. The 2017 fuel mapping is much better than the 2016. The...
I was very impressed with the weight transfer in the limited amount I rode mine. When I raced up the mountain last spring, I noticed that the demo Assault I was riding was a little on the stiff side and didn't weight transfer as well as my snowchecked unit does. But I wasn't able to adjust...
Great feedback. One more week till the trails open in Pittsburg, NH. Hoping to have plenty of snirt or snow by then to see how this animal really goes. I thought I might have the fastest sled in the group this season until my brother Pete called and said he bought a SideWinder....damn!
