Have a guy that wants to buy my sled so I put it back to stock before he tries it. I've had a BMP pipe on my last 2 sleds....2016 Axys Rush and 2017 Assault. They work well.
I hearing that the new sensor is to big to fit in the older pipe bung. So big that drilling it out would not leave enough material to tap. Looks like I'm having it removed and replaced. Then I'll have to get it re-coated with ceramic. Luckily we have a local guy here that does it in Concord, NH.
Polaris today announced a series of running changes to its 2018 model lineup that will affect most of its snowmobiles for the coming winter. Most global are some changes to the 800 H.O. and 600 Cleanfire engines that power the vast majority of snowmobiles for the brand, but updates to its...
HP is not the issue with clutch wear. Ever wonder why triples and 4 cylinder's are easier on clutches and belts than twins? It's all about the torque pulses produced every 360 degrees of rotation. Twins have 2 pulses(every 180 degrees) for every rotation of the clutch. These pulses are stronger...
Not here to stir the pot or start an argument...but...the Polaris primary is an outdated design. The basic design has not changed since 1985 and the original internal design has been the same since the early 70's. Sure it's had many minor updates along the way but nothing revolutionary such as...
All Polaris 800's do this in extreme cold. Hold the throttle. It will always start. Also, when starting, don't just crank it. Crank for 2 seconds then release. Crank again and it will fire right up. This engine was designed for 2 pulls to start. 1st pull charges the capacitors. 2nd pull starts...
RIVET, not river. See below:

2820 miles on mine right now and I've had the steering post bushing replaced. Now I've got the rivet issue and my dealer has pics of it sent in to Polaris. Just waiting for a reply. Over the weekend my friend Jeff and I noticed his rivet is gone/broken completely off. Something's up with this...
I had the exact set up on my 2016 LE. It just wouldn't go. We tried everything. Great to 80 MPH and after that it hits a wall. Gave up and bought an Assault. It rips.
I have a theory:
There's a thread going about a new 800 with an out of phase crank. Dead After .1 mile
This was a very common problem with 3 cylinder engines back in the day. This got me thinking....... I'm wondering if Axys sleds with fade issues are experiencing the same thing. Has anyone...
Almost 900 miles now. Suspension keeps getting more plush as the miles pile on. Great in the rough stuff...sucks up anything you throw at it. Had changed my weights to 10/68 because I was seeing 8500 rpm. Was perfect with them...pulling 8350-8400 no problem. Now it won't pull the weight...only...
