I'll have to check my Bully Dog mapping just to be sure but pretty sure adding 2-3% fuel from 80-100% throttle from 7750-8750 RPM was enough to compensate for the y-pipe.
No, our AXYS pipe has remained the same since inception. There's a reason why it took us awhile to release it to the public and that's because we wanted it to be right the first time around.
Oh okay gotcha, just wondering that's all. Yes, the customer has the option to request whether or not they want break-in mode. We can also set it to any duration they want.
Just curious but why even bother testing in break-in mode? Also, was the BMP pipe held for long periods of time? I noticed you just mentioned Jaws and Terra Alps being held open for a long period, not the others.
Roughly 565 grams, that's without a needle bearing since our kits do not come with new ones. Weighed a stock one on the same scale and it was 563 grams.
Porting isn't really worth the money on a stock bore AXYS 800 as it's already a ported version of the 800 CFI. Very little to be gained for how much money you're going to spend getting it ported.
Just waiting on stampings for the y-pipes. Our dyno showed around 4 HP when used in conjunction...
No internal stinger is the key to that pipe holding power on the longer runs. It's why we don't recommend doing a pipe mod to the stock AXYS 800 pipe. Not enough volume to get the heat out on longer pulls.
Yeah just got off the phone with him. Going to have him talk with Joey some more. They can compare dyno sheets and maybe narrow down why it was so different. That tune definitely shouldn't have been lean though, that's what gets me.
Thanks Brock, I don't have the final peak numbers but I do know that the gains were the same (21-22 HP). I'll have to get that from Joey when he gets back from the Jackson Hole Hill Climbs next week.
The stinger on our pipe is not as long as what is used in a pipe mod along with our pipe having more volume it's not prone to detonation like the pipe mod is.
Yes, but we highly recommend a fuel controller. If you do run it without a fuel controller it will need to be ran on ethanol mode while...
Joey (BMP's dyno tech) is a lot better at explaining this but here is a quote from one of the threads on HCS:
"I just got off a lengthy phone call Monday with superflow and it turns out the correction factor was off but that is not a user controlled input. They sent me a new calibration file...
