    Clutching and gearing

I used it as a instance, as i was looking to get my track to react to throttle. As some didn't seem to understand! I guess snowmobile guys dont know the term 'Blip'?

    Clutching and gearing

In flat out races with people out on trail or lake not one of them had timers. They go by a marker in snow. So until i start getting beat that way i dont agree with gear change. So many different options to change with clutching, why wouldn't it work with one and not the other. I haven't seen...

    Clutching and gearing

Probably, so making a simple spring change can fix the spot i think needs improving. So thats what i plan to try. Thanks

Where to start on MY clutching

Ok thanks, gonna stick with the 1.6 for now to see if i can improve what im looking to improve.

    Clutching and gearing

I understand that! But i said LIKE, A quad has instant throttle response. A sled doesn't, clutch has to backshift first. So gearing means nothing at this point at a slower speed. Lower gear or high gear, with same clutching, the belt is gonna be riding in same spot on clutch and clutch is...

Where to start on MY clutching

I get what your saying. But i think each applys to each sled, since there is so much difference between them. Ive never had a lot of heat in my clutches, even on my last ride around Easter when it was warm, was down on rpm, would only rev to 8300 from dead stop. Riding it was only going to...

    Clutching and gearing

Im gonna try one thing at a time so i can see and feel what each does. Never messed with clutching, so i figure its the best way to learn for what im looking for outa my sled. Gotta start somewhere! Just need snow!

    Clutching and gearing

Broke new belt in, and put a 100 on it. No difference. Original belt is still good. Gonna try the washers and new springs and go up a little on weights. I don't have lag when on the throttle. Its the lag in backshift im trying to speed up. For the quick on the gas off the gas blip. The...

Where to start on MY clutching

See thats kinda what im looking for on the slower tight trails, it should be more responsive. I know its not gonna be like a quad, but it should be able to improve without gearing. Tha Its 250 now. I just dont want it to look like shiz after talking ahield off then back on. I guess im a little...

Where to start on MY clutching

Alright thanks, im gonna try a spring and some weight to see if it changes what im experiencing. I have BDX/SSI can, debating the pipe mod or just buy the pipe. Thanks

Where to start on MY clutching

Honestly i like the 1.6 for trail. I give all the doos i ride with a good run. In the wide open trails ive yet to be passed in a straight away. Just feel the backshift going slow thru a 1lane trail doing 20-30 is slow to respond when i blip throttle. I feel i should be able to wack throttle...

Where to start on MY clutching

Have u tried this in snow last yr? Or u just going by the feel from the grass?

Where to start on MY clutching

Didn't someone mention that Eaither SLP OR BMP says dont change gearing? Whats their reasoning behind this? I would think if regearing made auch a difference wouldn't they also recommend doing it, or saying this should also be fone with our aftermarket parts. I just cant see that there is no...
